Teacher Training
The underlying philosophy of the strategic direction of education in Montserrat depends upon the development and retention of a highly qualified and motivated body of teaching staff, each of whom is fully aware of recent theory and practice relating to student-centred learning, classroom management and formative assessment techniques, and confident in using them.
Teachers and teacher training are therefore at the core of the entire strategy. Responsibility for managing the teacher-training programme has been initially assigned to an Education Officer, with the intention that the Principal of the Montserrat Community College will take on this responsibility in the longer term. |
